A backflow burner uses a hollow cone so the smoke runs downward over the piece instead of rising, which turns the object into the point of the ritual. Ours are made in brass, fired clay and stone, sized for a console or a shelf, and start at $25. Never leave a burning cone unattended, and always use a heat resistant surface.
