Details

The burner is ceramic with a glossy black glaze. It measures about 2.2 in (5.5 cm) wide and 2 in (5 cm) tall. A cup at the top holds the cone, and a bowl at the base catches the smoke. You get one burner, without cones.

A backflow cone is hollow at the base. Set in the cup, it draws part of its smoke down through a channel inside the burner. That smoke is cooler and heavier than the air, so it leaves through a side opening and flows down into the bowl like water.

How to use

Light the tip of a backflow cone, let it catch, then blow the flame out so it glows. Set it in the cup, hollow side down. Keep the burner in still air, away from fans, vents and open windows. The burner is small, so use cones that sit steadily in the cup.

Shipping and returns

Ships in 24 to 48 hours, then 6 to 9 business days in transit. Free shipping over $75. 30 days to return an unused item in its original packaging.

Safety

Never leave burning incense unattended. A small burner is light and easy to knock over, so place it on a stable, heat resistant surface, away from curtains and paper, and out of reach of children and pets. Let it cool completely before you touch it or remove the ash.

Questions

Four things people ask

How does a backflow incense burner work?

The smoke of a backflow cone is heavier than the air around it, so it runs down the piece instead of rising. The cone needs a hollow center and a channel in the burner for the effect to show.

What is the Mini Black Ceramic Backflow Incense Burner made of?

It is ceramic. A burner takes heat and ash every time it is used, so the material has to stand it and then wipe clean once the piece is cold.

Is it safe to leave it burning?

Never leave burning incense unattended. Keep the burner on a heatproof surface, clear of curtains, paper and anything that moves in a draft, and remember that the ash and the piece stay hot for a while after the incense has gone out.

How much is it, and is shipping free?

This one is $3.61, and shipping is free over $75. Below that shipping is a flat $5.90, and an unused piece in its original packaging can go back within 30 days.
