Details

The burner is ceramic, with a glossy teal glaze on the leaves and a dark glaze on the base. Four styles are available: wide leaf, pointed leaf, pointed leaf with pod, and vase. It is made for backflow cones, which have a hollow base.

A backflow cone is hollow at the base. Set at the top of the burner, it draws part of its smoke down through a channel inside. That smoke is cooler and heavier than the air, so it spills from leaf to leaf and pools in the base.

How to use

Light the tip of a backflow cone, let it catch, then blow the flame out so it glows. Set it on the cone hole at the top, hollow side down. Keep the burner in still air, away from fans, vents and open windows. Remove the cold ash after each use.

Shipping and returns

Ships in 24 to 48 hours, then 6 to 9 business days in transit. Free shipping over $75. 30 days to return an unused item in its original packaging.

Safety

Never leave burning incense unattended. Use the burner on a heat resistant surface, away from curtains and paper, and out of reach of children and pets. The top gets hot while the cone burns, so let the burner cool before you touch or clean it. Glazed ceramic can chip or break if dropped.

Questions

Four things people ask

How does a backflow incense burner work?

The smoke of a backflow cone is heavier than the air around it, so it runs down the piece instead of rising. The cone needs a hollow center and a channel in the burner for the effect to show.

What is the Blue Glaze Lotus Backflow Incense Burner made of?

It is ceramic. A burner takes heat and ash every time it is used, so the material has to stand it and then wipe clean once the piece is cold.

Is it safe to leave it burning?

Never leave burning incense unattended. Keep the burner on a heatproof surface, clear of curtains, paper and anything that moves in a draft, and remember that the ash and the piece stay hot for a while after the incense has gone out.

How much is it, and is shipping free?

This one is $39.90, and shipping is free over $75. Below that shipping is a flat $5.90, and an unused piece in its original packaging can go back within 30 days.
